The review analysed project features and investment effectiveness, identifying major factors affecting performance and the key lessons learned. Project sectors included agriculture, land rehabilitation, forestry, mining and land administration.

Klang Basin Catchment Management,
Malaysia
An
assessment of erosion and sedimentation issues affecting the 1,245 km2 Klang River basin that incorporates Kuala Lumpur. The review assessed legislation and guidelines, on-site conditions and practices, and local and national planning requirements. An erosion and sediment control program was proposed incorporating recommended land use planning controls, professional training, public awareness raising, monitoring and enforcement.

Semerang Upper Watershed Assessment,
Indonesia
An
assessment of upper watershed management within the 2,200 km2 Semarang watershed on the north coast of Java. The assessment identified the main watershed management issues causing flooding on the coastal plain and land degradation in the catchment, assessed the effectiveness of watershed policies and programs, and identified land management improvements and planning requirements.

Partnerships for Sustainable Land Management, World Bank
Co-preparation of an inter-agency paper titled Partnerships for Sustainable Land Management, presented at United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) CoP 7 (October 2005) by the Facilitation Committee of the Global Mechanism of the UNCCD. The paper identified the key attributes of effective sustainable land management partnerships and provided examples of successful partnerships around the world.
