Environmental due diligence review of projects being considered for financing by IFC and annual review of supported projects. The reviews involved environmental planning and project design documentation, corporate Environmental Management Systems and participation in site missions to assess compliance with IFC Performance Standards, World Bank Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Guidelines, national assessment guidelines and good international practice. Advice was provided to borrowers to improve project planning and implementation. Reviewed projects include highways, mining, hydroelectric power generation, wind power, gas processing and distribution, water supply and sanitation, and watershed management, in India, Indonesia, Laos, the Solomon Islands and Vietnam.

The reviews and impact assessments covered environmental planning and project design documentation, corporate Environmental Management Systems and participation in site missions to assess and plan compliance against the ADB environment policy, assessment guidelines and good international practice. Reviewed and assessed projects include hydroelectric and thermal power developments, solar and wind power, electricity and gas distribution, sanitation and watershed management, in Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Laos, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tajikistan.
